thanksgiving in Göteborg

Happy Thanksgiving! I'll be cooking everything myself, a bit scary really. But I figure there is only Sven and my American friend Jonathan who have even had thanksgiving before, so the rest of the guests will think it's good no matter what :)

SNOW

We had our first snow tonight. Sven was on his walk home so I went and met him in my first Swedish snow ... it's very different from Norwegian snow or Colorado snow for that matter.

It has stopped snowing now, but it was pretty. In Nicole's book winter is here now ...

november

I can't believe it's Nov. Although by living here it becomes pretty oblivious as it's starting to get dark so darn early now. Currently the sun rises around 8 in the morning and sets about 4. Soon there will only be only a few hours of sun light ... So darn weird.

Next week for the big turkey day we are having some friends over and I get the pleasure of cooking everything for the first time. I guess Sven will be able to help out some the night before but I'm sure I'll just be cooking all day since everyone else has to work. Also trying to find all the ingredients this weekend is going to be a blast, like locating a turkey :)

For x-mas I'm headed to my parents on the 18th to hang out for a couple of weeks. I can't wait. Sven is meeting me there right before x-mas. We are then coming back here and driving up to Sven's family cabin in Norway to spend new year's with his family and do some skiing.

halloween ... sort of

It was weird being in a place were it wasn't celebrated. We did have some friends over for dinner and I made them carve the one pumpkin I could find at the store ... It was very funny watching 30 year old people try to figure out how to carve a pumpkin for the first time :)
