Trysil, lots of snow then warm

We went up to Trysil last week with Jenny and Anders. It had snowed a ton for a couple of days so when we got there the snow was fabulous!! Sven was in powder heaven. I was enjoying the nice soft groomed runs. We had a great time watching the Olympics, eating great food, and playing games (mostly losing to Jenny).


On Wed night Linda, Johan and Kristina came up to join us. It had gotten a bit warmer (above freezing), so the snow was not as good at all, but it was sunny and warm so how can you really complain? On Fri we did a bit of birthday celebration, as it was Anders birthday. Since I didn't have a Sven cake for my birthday (since I was in CA), he made one for both of us. As you can see in the picture, 'A' for Anders, 'N' for Nicole .... so yummy :)

As always my favorite part is the hot chocolate girl :) It was another fabulous time up in Trysil.

random trip to CA & birthday

I made a random trip out to California in Feb. I realized after looking at the calendar that I should just go if I wanted to make a trip sometime before the summer. So I got a free ticket and went. It was great!! The first week I spent with Chris and Kim in there great new house. It was really nice to just be able to hang-out with them. My highlights were lunch with Chris, hanging out with the gang on Fri & Sat, and Mexican dinner on Sat. So great. I got the opportunity to spend the day with Cynthia and Sebastian as well which was so wonderful and fun.

On Sun my parents came down and Chris cooked a great breakfast. We then went for a walk in the sunshine. Afterwards we had a birthday celebration with lots and lots and lots of wonderful strawberries!! I just love strawberry shortcake.


The next week I spent up in Sebastopol. It was wonderful weather. The highs in the 70s (20c) and sunny everyday! Mom and I went to the movies, and I went to they gym with her a couple of times. Also went swimming my dad and got to see the crazy underwater water hockey! It was so great to finally see it. It looks like a crazy hard sport, go dad. I got to see friends and caught up on all the shows. During the weekend we went for a nice long walk, to the crab feed, and then on Sun to celebrate my actual birthday day, we went for breakfast in Healdsburg and then up to Fetzer for their wine and choclate celebration. It was a perfect day with lots of sun, good wine, chocolate and strawberries again!! Such a great trip.
